Disney Wedding

Here are the Minnie Ears

"Rehersal Dinner"

So all of the drama about the rehearsal dinner site is over. We have found the place... Sayler Park in Yuba. Now I can finish all the freaking invitations. Bah... I have 20 done. Someday I'll finish all of them...

Oh and Yuba. So in high school we made all these videos in German. My group made one about how Yuba has disappeared. We went out to about the park and all thats left of the town is a street sign and a closed corner market. So Yuba is gone. It was really cute.

Work is nuts, but good. Quote of the week, "If I have to do your 5S-shit then you have to do the ISO-shit." Almost as good as last week's, "So whats this about a Kai-aen event?" Oh the joys of corporate America.

Trying on the Dress

So, we've tried on the dress. And its cute. And Mel's veil looks great with it. The little comb thing matches perfectly. Very exciting.

I had the sweet preggers girl help me that was like 2 seconds from popping. They're doing some alterations and then I get to try it on again the week of my birthday.

All is well otherwise. I haven't killed anyone with my bride-zilla abilities. I am slightly tanner after my florida escapades. I will have to get the picture of me in Bridal-Minnie Ears that I "just had to get" while drunk in downtown Disney. I have them now, so in case anyone ever gets that urge to wear Bridal Minnie ears. Halloween costume from some future midget?

War Wound

I got my first war wound from the invites. Not from the actual invite, but from the roll of stamps. Freaking scary looking cougar postcard stamps.

Wedding Invitations

So, I've been working diligently on wedding invitations. It feels like they'll never end. Despite that I really like how they look... argh.

Cory and I couldn't find one online that we liked that was like $4 each, with 250 guests... its a bit much. So we've used our amazing engineering skills and my craft-store experience to create the masterpiece you see in the pictures.

Heres a view inside. Okay. Its missing 2 of the little tabbies. We haven't printed the map or the rehearsal dinner info because we don't quite have the rehearsal dinner location down because someone didn't discuss with his mother when it needed to be done by. . .

Where else would he get it from?

My Sister's a dork?

So, I had this long discussion at work with my chemist and another engineer about the chemist's son. He's allergic to a key amino acid and therefore can't eat any protein, which apparently is like everything. Crazy. Anyhow, that went into his wife, who used to be an actuary. And that went into of course, my big sister. And then he talked about the terrible tests, which his wife took many years to pass... and then I reflected that my sister passed them all on the first time. Now, whenever my sister or more, Emily, comes up... my co-neighbor engineer feels it necessary to tell me that my sister must be a dork like me. I tried to fight back that she once worked at a makeup counter, but to no avail. Melisa is a dork.

But if she is... then I must really be one. Why you say?

1. I actually use my text books at work to learn about chemistries
2. I remember and apply polymer chemistry on a regular basis.
3. I routinely have the black belt asking me computer questions.
4. I've taught my coworkers pivot tables
5. I have given presentations on sweet excel facts
6. I have pivot tables for my wedding guest list
7. I stalk Emily at work
8. I stalked Melisa's blog, so I could find more about Emily.

Its a serious problem.
